Say what you will about the utility of style, but at the end of the day it sells. Along those lines, this week MSI launched its Limited Edition Rose Pink Prestige 14 notebook, which offers a higher-end laptop configuration in a unique and seasonally fitting design.

MSI’s Prestige 14 is mobile powerhouse equipped with a factory-calibrated 4K Ultra-HD or Full-HD monitor which can display 100% of the AdobeRGB color gamut, making it a good fit for professionals with color critical workloads. Performance-wise, the Limited Edition Rose Pink Prestige 14 machine packs Intel’s six-core Core i7-10710U processor that is paired with 16 GB of LPDDR3-2133 DRAM, NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1650 GPU with 4 GB of GDDR5 in Max-Q configuration, as well as a 512 GB SSD.

Since we are talking about a high-end system aimed at demanding users, the pink notebook supports a rather distinctive set of technologies that includes a Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth adapter, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.0 output, a 3.5-mm audio connector for headsets, and a microSD card reader. When it comes to multimedia capabilities, MSI’s Limited Edition Rose Pink Prestige 14 is equipped with a webcam with IR sensors, stereo speakers, and a microphone array.

MSI’s Limited Edition Rose Pink Prestige 14 laptop with a Full-HD display is now available from retailers like Amazon and Newegg for $1399. Each notebook comes bundled with a pink sleeve bag, pink mouse and key chain to emphasize their style even further.

In addition to the aforementioned version with Intel’s six-core CPU and a discrete GeForce GTX GPU, MSI also plans to release a 4K Ultra-HD version to address more demanding customers.

if they could do a dark midnight purple coloring (using AMD cpu with proper amount of DRAM at high speed low latency) I would be all over it.. but it has to have just the right level of "shimmer" to it, usually only seen on super car level, then it is <3 color (^.^)

Assuming that changing a laptop's color suddenly aligns it to a target demographic is stupid and insulting. Though MSI has a track record of being clueless in terms of marketing so this latest attempt shouldn't surprise anyone.

This was my take as well. Perhaps there is a target market it for it though? I kinda shudder to think that though. The idea of needing separate colors of laptops to target men or women seems bizarre to me.

    Never, ever underestimate vanity.

I don't know, look at all the iphones that are rose gold. Or macbooks of the same color. Apple seems to know there needs to be SOME color options. For that matter, look at all the women with ridiculous bedazzled phone cases. I'm a use case of one, but I know more than a few women who would pick the pink laptop if there was a choice of that and grey.

One of those liquid filled cases with this layer of watery stuff filled with glitter and junk was the most durable case I've ever owned. The only problem was that it was a huge pain to press the power and volume buttons through it because that part of the design was stupid.

Well now you can plug your dongle into a pink slot. So there is that I suppose.
