As long as non-garbage 17" LCDs remain more or less non-existant don't expect to see any small bezel high end gaming laptops. Dropping an inch off of both sides eats too much cooling volume and the ability to put a numpad or trackpad beside the main qwerty keyboard.
The ROG branding is way too prominent, it's pretty incongruous with the otherwise minimalist design which I quite like. Whoever thought having "REPUBLIC OF GAMERS" plastered front and center needs to grow up a little.
Asus must be using the 90W variant of the GTX 1080, which has to be not insignificantly slower than the 150W variant. Still impressive nonetheless - you'd expect about an 80W GPU of a 2.5 kg 15.6" laptop, and Asus has managed to up the power budget by 10W and cut the weight by 300g.
Impressive as the engineering is, the styling is not quite there, especially considering the price. They could've at least tried to improve the bezels.
It'd be interesting to see the acoustics on this model. Having an ultra-slick and powerful laptop only to have it start whining crazily any time you try to get something done on it is a major flaw.

$2699 is just too much money.Wonder how long the battery lasts in regular (non-gaming) use.
