Performance

The GLADIAC ULTRA performed no differently than the reference GeForce2 Ultra board design.

Price

Without any bundled VIVO module, the GLADIAC ULTRA may be able to slightly undercut the cost of competing Ultra solutions, however ELSA has historically been a higher priced brand name than Creative Labs among others.

Drivers

ELSA gets points deducted here as their drivers were really no different than any other manufacturer's drivers in terms of usability. It would've been nice to see an ELSA equivalent of Creative Labs' FastTrax which allows the latest Detonator drivers to be taken advantage of very shortly after their release. Instead, users are forced to wait for ELSA to update their drivers to reflect any changes in the driver core.

Features

Aside from the 3D Revelator glasses and the potential for a VIVO add-on, the GLADIAC ULTRA is a fairly bare board. We do commend ELSA on the use of the larger heatsink/fan.

Retail Availability

The GLADIAC ULTRA will hit stores shortly and should be very readily available, much like what we saw with the introduction of the GeForce2 GTS based GLADIAC.

Documentation & Software Bundle

The documentation that came with the GLADIAC ULTRA was fairly detailed, especially regarding the setup of the 3D Revelator glasses. The software bundle was pretty scarce however, including little more than a DVD player.
